Papercutting - Batman
Have a tonne of icons laying around waiting to be posted (mostly Avengers :P) but in the meantime here's a little something I finished about a week ago - not quite in time for the release of The Dark Knight Rises, unfortunately (though I did go to the trilogy marathon at midnight and it was awesome. There was a costume, but that one's going to stay behind closed doors... :P). Took me freakin' ages and at times I thought I was being far too ambitious, but it turned out pretty epic in the end! It's based off the cover of Detective Comics 619, and as much as I didn't want to part with it, it now belongs to someone special (happy graduation, you!).

Detail of the toughest section:

I had some scrap paper left over from it after trimming, so I made some quick bookmarks as well:

Wow! These are epic. I'm not surprised that you can't feel your fingers, but ngl I'd love a print of your cover up on my wall. You chose a great design to turn into a paper cutting. I like your b&w version better than the original.

I've toyed with the idea of selling some pieces but unfortunately I'm as strapped for time as I am for cash, so it'll probably remain a distant fantasy... but thanks for the very glowing comment... (also: working from comics is so much easier than going from 'real life' images!)

I'm always impressed with paper cutting, but this is just... wow.

Ditto your comment about being impressed with papercutting - I've learnt to limit the amount of times I type it into tumblr because I invariably end up throwing my hands in the air, wailing "why do I bother?!?!" =P

You are so incredible, everything impossible just became possible by comparison.

The cover is *awesomely* done!

I *really* like the bookmark you did the progress photos for, though!! That's totally awesome.

Thanks! I was just mucking around when I did that bookmark so I'm quite surprised it came out so well!

Those are absolutely SICK! Major kudos for pushing through. I can't even imagine how much your hand cramped up after doing all that intricate detail work. I really adore the design on the "Keep Calm" Batman bookmark, the little hanging batarang is a nice, elegant touch. Laminate those suckers and sell on!

Amazing work and you must have amazing patience as well!
The cover's awesome, but the bookmarks are truly spectacular, imho.
